Autumn/Winter 2026 Trends You Can Actually Wear

Every new season brings a fresh wave of trends, but that doesn’t mean you need to reinvent your wardrobe.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that you have to buy into every trend to look stylish. The truth? The most stylish women wear trends selectively, choosing pieces that suit their body shape, colouring, lifestyle and personal style.

This season is all about timeless elegance with a modern twist. Here are the trends I’m loving—and how to make them work in real life.

1. Demure Tailoring

Tailoring is back, but it’s softer and more relaxed than previous seasons. Think oversized blazers, wide-leg trousers, waistcoats and structured coats in beautiful neutral shades.

How to wear it:
Pair a tailored blazer with your favourite jeans and trainers for an effortless everyday look, or style tailored trousers with a simple knit and loafers for work.

Style tip: Choose tailoring that works with your body shape. The right fit makes all the difference.

2. 1920s-Inspired Silhouettes

Elegant draping, fluid fabrics and feminine details are making a comeback. While full flapper-inspired looks aren’t exactly practical for everyday life, you can take inspiration from the trend through satin skirts, delicate embellishments and softer shapes.

How to wear it:
A satin midi skirt paired with a chunky knit and ankle boots creates a wearable version of this trend that’s perfect for day or evening.

3. Multipurpose Pieces

I’m always encouraging my clients to buy smarter, and this trend couldn’t be more practical.

Think reversible jackets, lightweight knitwear that layers beautifully, versatile dresses and separates that can be styled multiple ways.

How to wear it:
Before buying something new, ask yourself, “Can I style this at least three different ways?” If the answer is yes, it’s much more likely to become a hardworking piece in your wardrobe.

4. Satin Staples

Satin isn’t just for special occasions anymore. This season it’s being styled casually alongside knitwear, denim and tailored pieces.

How to wear it:
A satin shirt tucked into jeans or a satin skirt with a relaxed jumper creates an effortlessly polished outfit without feeling overdressed.

5. Two-Tone Footwear

From loafers to slingbacks and trainers, two-tone shoes are everywhere this season.

They’re a brilliant way to add interest to an outfit without stepping too far outside your comfort zone.

How to wear it:
Let your shoes do the talking by pairing them with classic wardrobe staples like denim, tailoring or monochrome outfits.

6. Ornate Accessories

Jewellery is becoming bolder, with statement earrings, textured bangles and vintage-inspired details taking centre stage.

How to wear it:
You don’t need to overdo it. One standout accessory can instantly elevate even the simplest outfit.

7. Check Prints

Checks return every autumn, but this year they’re appearing in everything from blazers and coats to scarves and trousers.

How to wear it:
If you’re new to wearing prints, start with a checked blazer or scarf and pair it with plain, neutral pieces.

8. Pops of Purple

From rich plum to softer lavender tones, purple is one of the standout colours for Autumn/Winter.

Whether you wear it in knitwear, accessories or outerwear, it adds warmth and interest to your wardrobe.

Style tip: If purple isn’t one of your most flattering colours, don’t worry. Wear it away from your face in a handbag, shoes or skirt, or simply choose a shade that works with your personal colour palette.

My Biggest Piece of Advice

Fashion trends should inspire you—not dictate what you wear.

Before buying into any new trend, ask yourself these three questions:

  • Does it suit my body shape?
  • Does it work with my colouring?
  • Can I see myself wearing it beyond this season?

If the answer is yes, it could be a fantastic addition to your wardrobe.

If not, don’t feel pressured to buy it just because it’s trending.

The best wardrobe isn’t one that’s full of the latest fashion—it’s one that’s full of pieces that make you feel confident, comfortable and like the best version of yourself.
